Active 2 update

I've compleated a week of workouts now and the soreness has finally gone away. :) I really liked the 3rd workout that had more upper body stuff and some cardio boxing. The 4th workout however was brutal. It was almost all legs and had me doing footfires to squats back to footfires to squats with jumps. Ouch. I never should have got out of shape, its much better to just stay in.
I have two more workouts for today and tomorrow and then I'll report my progress.

The End

Reading the end of a book is always so bitter sweet to me. I never read the end first, (unlike my wife and my sister who always have to read the end to know if they want to read the book). I get the most joy out of the journey the book takes you on and the excitent of not knowing what the next page may hold. This excitement will continue to build to the climax of the book and then there is the End of the book, the reward for compleating the book. It wraps up loose ends and gives us the happy ever afters but then the book is over and I have to close the book, get back to life and wait for my next adventure.

workout update

I have done two workouts now using EA sports Active 2 and I have learned that I was in worse shape than I thought. I don't know how the fitness veterans amoung us would take to the program but for us that are just starting out it makes workingout somewhat fun and it really kicks your butt.
I have my next two workouts set for today and tomorrow, I'll check back in after they are done with a few more impressions.

The A*Team's Faceman

So my wife and I watched the A*Team a little while back and Amy was swooning over Bradley Cooper and how nice his body was. This got me looking at how flabby my own body has become. Then and there I made a goal to have a body like Mr. Coopers by the end of the year. So I may not be exactly like him at the end of the year but at least it's a good visual goal. I also know that "getting in shape" is the most cliche New Years goals ever but my goal isn't just get in shape it's to be "Hollywood"!

When I grow up...

I'm 33 years old now but I still feel like I'm a little kid and real life is yet to start. I wonder if that is because I always thought being a grown-up would be so much different than it is. I find that many things I want or am looking forward to are the same as when I was 21. True I have now found my wonderful wife and I have a beautiful home but I still feel that life would be better if I had a new job and made more money. I think perhaps my definition of being all grown up is having arrived, having the career you are happy in having a complete handle on debt, and having your life all figured out. With that definition I don't know if I will ever grow up.

The bigger man

When someone picks a fight and you turn the other way people call you "the bigger man". Well I don't feel like the bigger man. I feel pissed off and I still want to hit someone in the face.
Today one of my students through a book at the back of my head hitting me at the base of my skull. I was up and at that kid like lightning ready to inflict a lot of pain but I was able to check myself and just escorted him out of class. So what do I get for my moral victory? For one I don't go to jail, but I'm left with being mad as a hornet and I have a headache.
